6pm this evening at the ground for outdoor nets. Places are up for grabs for this weekend and the 1st and 2nd team opening league games on the 7th and 8th May.

Saturday v Whitchurch

Season opener at the new F & P ground in the blistering April heat. Big total from 45 overs on a lightning August outfield for F & P - century opening stand by Simon Bachelor 38 and Ed Humphreys 85 with Henry Humphreys 60* supported by Dan Chapman 26* and Liam Smith 20 almost getting to 300. In reply, Ian Payter 59 saw Whitchurch off to a blistering start with Stephen Brown 30 but a young side could not sustain the weight of runs needed as Pierre Bell's off-spin 3-20 with Tony Lippe and Tom Isom 2 wickets each worked through the order. Sam Gunarathne's 3 for 1 leg spin finished the match. Both sides had a good work-out ahead of the league season to come.
