Bees! Bumble Bees

We have heard back from North Somerset Environment and Pest Dept, our boundary bees are Bumble Bees not honey bees but are protected as they are in decline.
The situation apparently is that they will be there until Sept when some new Queens will fly the nest leaving the existing queen and workers to die. We were assured that if left alone they are harmless and will only react if we start digging around in the nest, therefore the advice was to leave the traffic cone to mark the nest and for the players to ignore them. They seem to be enjoying the clover on the out field which may disappear when we cut it tomorrow.
