News of Monty in Mumbai
Oh dear! Sorry to hear about your thumb injury. Are you aiming to get over in June/July/August? Meanwhile, here's the news:
The 1st XI had poor start. Lost first 3 games (though one was unlucky) and only tied the 4th. But won the 5th and, though it's disappointing, we are only actually 41 points behind the second-placed team with still to play them twice (26 points for a win). Tomorrow is St Mary Redcliffe at home and the team is a bit more settled.
Doing well in the cup - still in all 3 competitions. Beat Bishopston in the Bristol & District cup second round last Wednesday and wait to play Timsbury on Sunday in the semi-final of the Somerset area of the National Village cup.
The Second XI are not doing too badly - won 2 lost 2 from 4 but they will be weakened tomorrow.
3rd XI have had 4 rained off out of 5 but won the other one so they are 3rd in their league.
Lots of new players this year and with students back home from next week there should be even more.

Well Marv, it seems nothing's going right for me this year.
I have injured my left thumb yesterday while taking a sharp catch in gully during our practice match. It got dislocated from the thumb joint. I am waiting for an x-ray report by today evening.
At the moment it looks pretty bad (lot of swelling and lot of pain).
I am still hoping positive and expect Failand seniors to be positive under Ed 's captaincy .
Good luck for tomorrow's game.
Monty
